Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over several drug shipments from Gujarat and asked how long he would remain silent on the matter. His attack came days after the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) in Mumbai busted a mephedrone manufacturing unit in Gujarat and seized drugs worth Rs 1,026 crore.
“Easy drug business in Gujarat? Prime Minister, answer these questions. Drugs worth thousands of crores are entering Gujarat. Who is spreading this poison in the holy Gandhi-Patel land,” the former Congress chief said in a statement tweet in hindi. He asked a series of questions and asked why the owner of the port has not been questioned yet despite the drugs being recovered again and again. “Why NCB and other government agencies still unable to catch ‘Narcos’ running drug cartels in Gujarat?” said Gandhi. “Narcos” is the name of a Netflix series about drug cartels in Colombia.
Who are the people sitting in the government at the Center and in Gujarat who are providing protection to the “friends” of the mafia, the Congress leader further asked. “Mr. Prime Minister, as long as you remain silent, answers will have to be given,” he said.
