Some relief from the expected heat as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a ‘decrease’ in temperature wave conditions in many parts of the country. In a series of tweets, the Met Department said thunderstorms and strong winds could be seen in northwestern India until Wednesday, northeast until tomorrow and east and south of India until Friday.

Here are the five major Met department forecasts for the current climate in the country.
•. The Met Department predicted consistent wind speeds between 40-60 miles per hour over the South Andaman Sea & north of the Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal on May 4 and 5.
• Winds or hurricanes with speeds of up to 50-60 kmph varying to 70 kmph which is likely to prevail over the Andaman Sea connecting Eastcentral and South-East Bay of Bengal on 06 May. Fishers are advised not to call themselves in these areas, the weather department said.
• Dispersed in torrential rain with a single thunderstorm, lightning and strong winds (speeds up to 40-50 kmph) about Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha within the next 5 days.
•Heavy rain is almost exclusively isolated in the Himalayan regions of West Bengal and Sikkim on Monday; over Arunachal Pradesh on Mondays and Tuesdays.
•Declining temperatures in many parts of the country.Heavy rain in one area in Assam-Meghalaya Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura between Monday and Wednesday. Heavy rains almost alone in Assam-Meghalaya and Tripura on Tuesday, ”read the forecast.
In the past few weeks, several states have been experiencing severe wave heat waves and high temperatures of nearly 50 degrees Celsius in some cities. Burning heat has also increased the demand for electricity in the country, as power outages are reported in many provinces.
