Mayank Agarwal Nominated For ICC Player of the Month (December 2021) award

Dubai, UAE: India opening batsmen Mayank Agarwal, Australia pacer Mitchell Starc, and New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel have been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month (December 2021) award. The nominees were selected as they are distinguished themselves with some brilliant performances in December. Mayank grabbed the opportunity in the series against South Africa and New Zealand, while the regular openers Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul missed a few games.

Ajaz Patel became the third player in Tests to achieve the target of picking 10 wickets in an inning, which was against India in December, and immortalized his name in the cricket history. Also, Mitchell Starc played a vital role both with the bat and the ball, in retaining the Ashes.

Starc defined the picture for the entire series by dismissing Burns in the very first ball of the first Test. While batting he added 85 crucial runs for the eighth wicket. Starc was spectacular in the second Test in Adelaide where he picked up 6 wickets and added 58 runs.
