Former India captain Kapil Dev has dismissed the young Virat Kohli as saying that as a former player he has the right to question a player’s performance if it is not appropriate. Kapil has been voicing his views on Kohli’s struggle, for which, in the past, he has received comments. But the former Indian athlete insists that if the players do not hit the runs or do what is expected of them, they can do more to calm others down.”I have not played as much cricket as Virat Kohli. “If you prove to us that we are wrong, we will love it. If you do not get the runs, we feel like there is a mistake. We see one thing and that is your performance. And if there is no performance, do not expect people to be silent Kapil in Uncut.
Additionally, Kapil has revealed that he is saddened to see a Kohli classmate go so far outside for a century. Kohli’s last time pushing a hundred internationally was in November 2019 – more than two years ago and more recently, his form and bat have diminished. With a big question about the lack of runs of the former captain of India, Kapil seems to have become a major cause of concern, in Indian cricket and his fans.
“It pains me to see such a great player go through this long gap (about a century). He looks like a hero to us. Which he has not done for the past two years, it worries us all, “said Kapil. After a quiet IPL 2022, Kohli was rested from the T20I home series against South Africa, which ended in a 2-2 draw. After a short break, Kohli will return to paid cricket as India take on England in the fifth relegation test from last year at Edgbaston starting July 1. He is also expected to appear in a three-day training match against Leicestershire starting on Thursday.
