Mumbai, September 6, 2024: A significant fire erupted in the seven-storey Times Tower building located in the Kamala Mill compound, Lower Parel, early Friday morning, according to civic officials. The fire was reported around 6:30 AM and has been classified as a level 2 (major) incident by the fire department.
Several fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene, with nine fire engines and additional firefighting vehicles involved in containing the blaze. As of now, there have been no reports of casualties.
Firefighting operations are still ongoing, with efforts focused on preventing the fire from spreading to nearby areas. Video footage shared on social media shows thick plumes of smoke billowing from the building.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are underway to determine how the blaze started. Further updates are expected as emergency services continue their work at the site.
