India emerged as a leading scientific coalition world’s first DNA-based vaccine :Dr. Jitendra Singh

He said, India is working with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), World Health Organization (WHO) and Accelerator Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) to achieve this goal.

The Multi-Stakeholder Forum this year focuses on science, technology and innovation to better recover from coronavirus (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

India’s power in the digital environment

Dr. Jitendra Singh told delegates that the great power of digital technology and knowledge has become an integral part of the global response to Covid. He added, using India’s power in the digital environment, New Delhi decided to share with the rest of the world, India’s advanced Co-WIN App, to provide digital support for better vaccination drive. India said India has long promoted Science and Innovation Technology and developed an ecosystem that allows it to nurture and nurture dynamic ideas, help improve people’s quality of life and provide solutions to global problems. This is especially important in the current situation, he added.

Referring to the global effort to overcome the challenges posed by the epidemic two years ago, DrJitendra Singh said, India has emerged as a member of a leading scientific coalition on vaccine research. Our scientific community, with the support of a strong medical industry, has succeeded in developing and producing safe, effective, and affordable vaccines, including the world’s first DNA-based vaccine, the Minister said.

The Indian prime minister warned members that the current details of the COVID-19 cases show that we are still far from the post-epidemic world and called for meaningful cooperation by pooling resources and sharing information. He said, co-operation in Science, Technology and Innovation in a spirit of cooperation is key to accelerating our shared response to COVID-19 and sustainable development. He also emphasized that the STI should be an inclusive and equitable tool for the delivery of the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) based on innovative, affordable and accessible technological innovations.

DrJitendra Singh said that smart business models driven by technology and service delivery have the potential to accelerate the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals in a cost-effective, transparent and inclusive manner. However we need to facilitate access to technology so that developing countries can meet the challenges associated with sustainable development. He said, in India, Science and Technology has become an important tool in post-epidemic recovery as we go back better and added that India is closing the digital divide through low-cost, innovative and designed technology solutions to empower all citizens. , especially women. Today the number of internet users in cities has surpassed cities and Public services and the final mileage is connected to digital platforms. All of this has contributed to furthering the success of the SDGs, added the Minister.

In his concluding remarks, DrJitendra Singh said that, in the spirit of South-South cooperation, India has partnered with the Technology Facilitation Mechanism and the UN Interagency Task Team (IATT) in supporting emerging African countries and other developing countries in building and implementing them.
