Successful countries develop their innovation and learning skills, by investing in public funds to finance research and development in key areas. Everyone is involved – big and small, public, private, rich and poor. India has set a goal of doubling its economy in five years to $ 5 trillion. Digital infrastructure has emerged as an equally important or undisputed infrastructure need, compared to conventional infrastructure needs such as energy, water, and roads. The COVID-19 epidemic has not only disrupted globalization but also provided impetus to the ever-expanding digital infrastructure.

The global economy is charting ways to create its own digital infrastructure – which includes the physical resources needed to process data, software, methods, systems, and processes – that are resilient, fast, and efficient. Digital infrastructure has become an integral part of public service and the quality of life of its citizens. Worldwide, countries have used their digital infrastructure to respond continuously to the ongoing epidemic. With nearly half a billion Internet users in India, a host of indigenous digital services, forums, applications, content, and solutions, are expected to transform the digital ecosystem. India could see a fivefold increase in economic value since the digital revolution in 2025, representing an attractive opportunity for global and local businesses, startups, and innovators to invest in emerging technologies (such as AI, Blockchain, or drones) in ways tailored to India Needs.

The rapid adoption of border technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT) and the advent of the COVID-19 epidemic, have put all digital infrastructure under tremendous pressure. As the Government of India continues to work on policies such as Smart Cities and Smart Health, it is important for the country to add digital infrastructure, in order to effectively utilize borderline technologies to economic development. With the growth of smartphones, the increase in online activity and the large amount of data being produced, Data Centers could become the most important in the world. Therefore, it is necessary for the hour to promote and create a framework for the development of robust digital infrastructure that can facilitate the adoption of emerging technologies such as 5G, IoT, artificial intelligence, machine learning, drones, robots, additional production, photographic images. , nano-based devices, etc., and their use in areas such as defense, agriculture, health, internet security, smart cities, and automation, with a special focus on solving real-life problems.

Digital India campaign

The Indian government has launched a Digital India campaign to ensure that government services are made available electronically to all citizens. This goal is being achieved by strengthening online infrastructure and improving internet connectivity or making India digitally empowered in the technology sector.

The Digitize India program integrates programs to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks and to improve digital literacy. The vision of the campaign is an inclusive growth in all sectors. The program also includes programs that link rural areas to high-speed internet networks.
