The Pan India Padhe Chalo program culminated in the grand finale at the Talkatora Stadium

The Pan India Padhe Chalo program culminated in the grand finale at the Talkatora Stadium today after 7 days of packed performances across 70 cities across India. Under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ministry of Culture is organizing ‘Badhe Chalo’ from 5th August 2022. The grand finale function was graced by Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Anurag Thakur and Minister for Culture, Tourism and North Eastern Region Development; Shri G. Kishan Reddy. Secretary, Ministry of Culture Shri Govind Mohan was also present on the occasion

On the occasion, Shri G.K Reddy and Shri Anurag Thakur took the pledge of Har Ghar Tiranga along with thousands of participants present at the function. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Anurag Thakur said that in Amrit Kaal the youth must set Amrit goals and fulfill their duties to achieve these goals to make the country Vishwaguru. The Union Minister added that Tiranga is a symbol of the unity of the country’s 130 million people. Shri Anurag Thakur also urged people to hoist flags in their homes from 13th to 15th August. The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration with Jan Bhagidhari has now taken the form of Jan Aandolan, the Minister said.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri G.K Reddy said that millions of people fought and sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country. The Union Minister added that in every village, every town, every house should be a part of Har Ghar Tiranga and hoist the flag on their houses by August 15. Shri G Kishan Reddy said that the next 25 years belong to the youth and they must work to create a strong India, Vishwaguru. Culture Ministry Secretary Shri Govind Mohan said that Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is a program to remember those unsung heroes who contributed to India’s freedom struggle and sacrificed their lives for it.

He added that the program will also inform us about the achievements of India in the last 75 years and through this program the foundation for the next 25 years will be laid. Shri Govind Mohan also informed about the changes made in the flag code. During the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, more than 20 lakh flags have been made available so far, he said. Badhe Chalo is a youth-focused activation designed by the Ministry of Culture to instill a deeper sense of love for the country among the young hearts. This finale was a spectacular star-studded event with performances by Indian Idols Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal.

As ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ fervor gathers across the country following the Prime Minister’s call, Badhe Chalo added to the excitement with massive participation from Itanagar, Dimapur, Imphal in the east to the Wagah border, Surat, Goa, Daman in the west and from Srinagar and Jammu in the north to Chennai and Bengaluru in the south and even the most remote places like Daman and Port Blair.

The Badhe Chalo movement has received an encouraging response from the youth of our nation in a way that resonates with them i.e. through song and dance. The Wagah Border event was memorable and unforgettable. Crowds joined the Flash Dance at most places, making it even more spectacular. The Badhe Chalo anthem was appreciated by all, young and old. This event has certainly rekindled the fire of patriotism and encouraged us to hoist the Tiranga in our homes from 13th to 15th August with national pride in our hearts and heads held high.
