Infrastructure Focus: Role of Road infrastructure in the development of Indian Economy and how Road infrastructure developed post BJP’s government

India’s rise in recent years is a major development in the global economy. India has once again emerged as one of the fastest growing economies in the world. India’s growth, especially in manufacturing and services, has raised emotions, both domestically and abroad. With the growth of investment and strong foundations of a major economy, India’s vision for the future is much better. India’s transport infrastructure is inadequate to meet current needs, and future needs will be enormous. India can unleash its full potential, as long as it develops infrastructure, which is currently insufficient to meet the growing economic need. It has a consistent desire for investment and sector development services. Failure to develop the country’s infrastructure will delay India’s growth process.

Therefore, the first and foremost priority for the Indian government is rising to the challenge of maintaining and managing high growth through investment in the infrastructure sector, among other things. The provision of high quality and efficient infrastructure services is essential to realize the full potential of growth targets in the economy.

High-speed roads that can transport goods to customers in remote markets increase productivity reduce poverty and make a significant contribution to sustainable and inclusive economic development. That is why economists spend so much time trying to study the state of the world’s roads through research and the like.IMF staff has developed a new road quality measure in all 162 countries using Google Maps to determine the average, or average, time to drive between major cities at least 80 miles (50 miles). As the weekly chart shows, the world’s fastest-growing roads are located in economically developed countries including the United States, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Canada. Slow roads are found in poorer countries — another barrier to inclusive growth.

Simplicity is a key element of our points. Medium speed is easy to calculate and easy to monitor. This makes them a cheap complement to other communication metrics that rely on satellites or surveys. Our research shows that road quality is closely related to travel times. It is difficult to make the quality of the road one. For example, speed does not hold up to road safety, access to other modes of transport such as trains, or congestion at peak times or seasons (when farmers may all have to take to the streets at once to get their produce to market). In addition, they may not be fully aware of the engineering challenges of building quality roads in different and difficult areas.

However, this simple metric can support policymakers and planners in evaluating their road infrastructure in comparison with peer-to-peer countries and the number of future street investments. It can also be easily extended to accelerate highways which may be critical for many in rural areas. This can help countries formulate policies to overcome road problems and improve their competitiveness by moving people and goods faster.

Road infrastructure network post BJP’s Government

Under the Modi government and his minister, Nitin Gadkari – the man who built the main road – India’s network of roads has almost taken over. It changed the perception of a national road network into a so-called pothole between high-speed national highways, better road planning and even smaller distances. Areas in India now have roads where they did not exist, 2 routes have been changed to 4 routes, 4 highways and highways.

Road network, east-west peripherals, construction of thousands of railways over bridges, Kashmir to Kanyakumari highway, Delhi-Meerut (competitive) highway, Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Dehradun, Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi -Jaipur, Mumbai-Pune, Ganga Expressway, some examples of completed projects, under construction that will permanently change the commute to work between cities will be more secure, safer, less time consuming and contribute to the full development of infrastructure and economics.

According to the NHAI annual 2019-2020, here is a representation of the existing road network in the country. Char Dham Road all-weather, Atal tunnel, focus northeast and more. Work is underway on the construction of all-weather roads including char dham, the launch of the Atal tunnel, additional tunnel projects to reduce short-distance hiking in the mountains and is increasingly focused on government to prevent hiking in hilly areas. Another desire of the Modi government is to seamlessly connect northern India with the eastern states including Assam, Arunachal, Tripura, and others. NHAI has achieved very high goals in terms of awarding projects and lengths completed in 2019-20.
