India claimed four wickets in the morning session on Saturday to reduce Bangladesh to 71-4 on the third day of the second Test in Mirpur on Saturday. Zakir Hasan batting on 37, Bangladesh still trailed by 16 as they conceded a first innings lead of 87 in a low-scoring contest at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.
Litton Das was yet to open his account at the other end. Ravichandran Ashwin, off-spinner, earned the breakthrough for India when he trapped opener Najmul Hossain lbw for five in the second over of the day. Seamer Mohammed Siraj removed Mominul Haque, whose 84 was Bangladesh’s highest first-innings score of 227, and was left behind.
Jaydev Unadkat dismissed Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan and Axar Patel sent back Mushfiqur Rahim as India, who lead the two-Test series 1-0, consolidated their grip on the match.
