India and Egypt reaffirmed their commitment to the core values ​​of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), international law and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states. The Suez Canal connecting the Mediterranean Sea with the Red Sea is one of the busiest trade routes in the world. About 12 percent of global trade passes through the canal every day. India will support its companies that have the potential to set up foreign investment to take advantage of the available investment opportunities in Egypt.

It said Modi and Sisi expressed concern over the spread of terrorism across the world and agreed that it posed one of the gravest security threats to humanity. Both leaders condemned the use of terrorism as a tool of foreign policy. They called for ‘zero tolerance’ for terrorism and for all those who incite, support and finance terrorism or harbor terrorists and terrorist groups – whatever their motivations may be.

The two leaders reiterated their joint determination to promote the values ​​of peace, tolerance and inclusiveness and to make joint efforts in the fight against terrorism and violent extremist ideologies.
“They emphasized the need for a holistic approach to countering terrorism and violent extremism, which includes, among other things, disrupting the use of the Internet and social media and preventing the use of religious centers to radicalize youth and recruit terrorist cadres,” the statement said.
Modi and Sisi also agreed on the need to regularly hold joint meetings of the counter-Terrorism Task Force to share information and best practices. Both sides agreed to strengthen interaction between their respective national security councils. The joint statement said the two leaders looked forward to deepening cooperation in the field of agriculture and allied services, while highlighting the importance of strengthening the supply chain of food products.
