Economy Focus: If India grows by 8% annually on the basis of Combined Annual Growth, after 30 years, the economy will be worth $ 30 billion

And Public Distribution, Shri Piyush Goyal at an event in Tiruppurtoday. Shri Goyal said Tiruppur has made the country proud and is home to a textile production that costs 30,000 crores every year. He said the sector provides direct employment for 6 lakh people and indirect employment for 4 lakh people, therefore, collectively it provides employment for 10 lakh people.

He said in 1985, Tiruppur was exporting textile products worth R15 Cr. For the year ended March 2022, the average shipment from Tiruppur is ₹ 30,000 Cr which means two thousand times more growth. Considering the unprecedented growth of the textile industry in the region, over 37 years, the combined annual growth rate in Tiruppur is 22.87%.He said Tiruppur has a number of recruitment options and urged the youth to seize the opportunity. He added that young people would also be trained. He noted that at present, about 70% of those employed in the textile industry in Tiruppur are women and those who come from marginalized categories.

Shri Goyal said throughout India, about 3.5-4 crore people participate in the total number of textiles only. Fabrics are the second largest provider of post-agricultural work. The size of the sector is about R10 lakh Cr. Exports are about R3.5 lakh crore. He also emphasized that the textile sector has the potential to grow in ₹ 20 lakh Cr industry over the next 5 years with export ₹ 10 lakh Cr. However, it is targeted at an estimated export of 7.5-8 lakh crore and a target of 20 million lakh production which is possible in the next 5 years.

He spoke about the challenges India is facing with regard to COVID and the war between other countries. However, he emphasized that despite the challenges, under the guidance of the Prime Minister, India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Shri Goyal said if India grows by 8% annually on the basis of Annual Growth Growth, the economy will double over a period of 9 years to become a $ 6.5 trillion economy. Similarly, 18 years from now, the Indian economy has predicted a $ 13 trillion economy. 27 years from now, economic growth can be calculated as $ 26 trillion and after 30 years, it can set the stage for India to become a billion-dollar economy. $ 30.

He said Tiruppur is a leading source of Hosiery, Knitted Garments, Casual Wear, and Sportswear and is a traditional cotton mill. He said during a visit to SITRA yesterday, he saw many new jobs. He indicated that the Center would work with the Sanitary Napkin Mechanical Health Department at SITRA to provide low quality sanitary nappies under PM Jan AushadhiYojana.ShriGoyal participates in the Tiruppur Exporting Meeting. He held a consultative meeting with representatives of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) and the Apparel Export promotion Council (AEPC). Drs. Sakthivel thanked the Union Minister of Trade and Industry for the tireless efforts of the Union in concluding the FTAs ​​with the UAE and Australia and concluded that the ongoing negotiations with the UK, EU, GCC, etc. would open up new opportunities for Indian exports. The FIEO President also requested the attention of the Honorable Minister of Trade and Industry on proposals that link the integration of RoSCTL and RoDTEP with the fulfillment of export value, including the remaining sectors such as Iron & Steel, Pharma, Chemicals etc. to RoDTEP, to extend benefits to EOU / SEZ includes, AAA / DFA users, announces revised TMA Agri Sector, remittance solution to Sri Lanka, implementation of Rupee Payment System for shipment to Russia, Establishment of MSME Market promotion fund, market access to sectors emerging resources,etc.
