Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday joined the Aam Aadmi Party’s march against Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, questioning why teachers were stopped from going to Finland for training. This comes amid disputes between the Delhi government and LG Saxena over teacher training, among other issues.
In a tweet to the Delhi LG, Kejriwal wrote, “Delhi does not need tyranny but constitution and democracy. Our struggle for people’s rights will continue.” Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was seen marching alongside Kejriwal unlike other party leaders amid sloganeering.
Talking to reporters, the Delhi Chief Minister said, “Who is the LG sahab to stop teacher training? In response to the Delhi government’s proposal, we were told to conduct a cost-benefit analysis of teacher training in Finland… Salaries of doctors in Mohalla clinics was stopped. Is he doing this at the behest of the BJP?”
Last week, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also raised the issue of teacher training. To this, the LG’s office replied that the Delhi government’s proposal has not been stopped.
