Chandu Champion is all set to enter the Rs 40 crore market. On the 8th day, the film collected 2.5 million euros at the box office, according to Saknilk. Directed by Kabir Khan, the biographical sports drama has so far collected 37.75 crores through ticket sales.
Chandu Champion, directed by Karthik Aarya, tells the story of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. The film also stars Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Adadav, Shreyas Talpade, Sonali Kulkarni and Bhuwan Arora in prominent roles. Releasing on June 14, the film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Kabir Khan and Pen Studios.

Ahead of the release of Chandu Chandu, director Kabir Khan spoke about why Karthik chose Aarya to play the role of Murlikant Petnekar. I told IANS when I wrote the script for ‘Chandu’… You must have a character in your head when you write the script. That character, the character has an age, a personality, an attitude… So, if these pointers are there, the next step is to decide which actor can embody these qualities, and I feel these qualities in Karthik Aaryan. “
