BSF & Pakistan Rangers exchanged sweets and Diwali pleasantries at International Border in the Jammu

The Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers on Monday exchanged sweets and Diwali pleasantries along the 198-km-long India-Pakistan International Border in the Jammu region, officials said. “On the occasion of Diwali, BSF and Pak Rangers exchanged sweets at various Border Outposts (BOPs) under the Jammu border in a very cordial atmosphere,” said a BSF officer.

BSF Jammu offered sweets to Pakistan Rangers and they also reciprocated, he added. The exchange of sweets was done along the entire length of payment cards in Samba, Kathua, RS Pura and Akhnoor border. The officer informed that the BSF has always been in the forefront in creating a calm and friendly atmosphere at the border while effectively dominating it.

“Such gestures help build a peaceful atmosphere and cordial relations at the border between the two forces,” he said. Meanwhile, on August 25, the BSF foiled a smuggling bid in Samba when border officials recovered about 8 kg of heroin. The Pakistani smuggler was shot and injured by the BSF but managed to crawl back to the Pakistani side.
