BrahMos Surface Dual-Role Missiles at a total approximate cost of ₹ 1,700 crore

The Ministry of Defense (MOD) today signed a contract with M/s BrahMos Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. (BAPL) for the procurement of additional BrahMos Surface to Surface Dual-Role Missiles at a total approximate cost of ₹ 1,700 crore under the ‘Buy-Indian’ category.

The induction of these dual-role missiles will significantly enhance the operational capability of the Indian Navy (IN) fleet. Notably, BAPL is a joint venture (JV) between India and Russia, which is instrumental in the deployment of the new generation Surface-to-Surface Missile (SSM) with increased range and dual-role capabilities for both land and anti-ship attacks.

This contract will provide further support to the domestic production of critical weapon systems and ammunition with the active participation of the domestic industry.
