PM presents Global AYUSH Investment & Innovation Summit in Gandhinagar

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today opened the AYUSH & Innovation International Investment Conference at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The three-day conference will witness 5 Plenary sessions, 8 tables, 6 workshops, and two, with about 90 keynote speakers and 100 exhibitors. The Summit will help unlock investment potential, and provide innovative information, research and development, the first ecosystem, and the health sector. It will help bring together industry leaders, academics and academics and serve as a platform for future collaboration.

Drs. Tedros Ghebreyesus emphasized long-term investment

Drs. Tedros Ghebreyesus has expressed his happiness at being in the province and in the country of Mahatma Gandhi which he calls ‘the pride of the world’. He said Indian philosophy ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam’ was the driving force behind the launch of the WHO Global Center for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) in Jamnagar yesterday. He said the establishment of the center was historic and would mark a turning point in life. The DG commended the Prime Minister and the Indian government for using innovation in public health.

 Informed the use of data and integrated information sharing systems in Indian hospitals. He commended the AYUSH Department for promoting a spirit of data collection for traditional medicine research. Commenting on the growing demand for land and investment in Ayush products the DG said the whole world is coming to India and India is going all over the world. Mr. Pravind Kumar praised traditional medicine

Mr. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth commended India and Gujarat for their contribution to the introduction of traditional medicine. He also noted India’s support for the health sector in his country. Noting the same interest in India, the Prime Minister of Mauritius emphasized the importance given to Ayurveda in his country. He announced the establishment of an Ayurvedic hospital in Mauritius and thanked India for providing traditional medicine during the initial closure. “This is one of the many signs of unity we have always been grateful for to the Indian government, especially to the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji,” he said. Explaining the steps taken by the Ayush industry, the Prime Minister said “we are already seeing unprecedented growth in the production of AYUSH medicines, supplements and cosmetics. In 2014, when the AYUSH sector was less than $ 3 billion, today it has risen to over $ 18 billion. ”

I am sure the unicorns will appear at the beginning of our AYUSH soon” he hopes. Noting that the production of medicinal plants could be a great way to increase the livelihoods of farmers and the scope of job creation in this regard, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for an institution to easily connect with the market of farmers involved in the agricultural sector, production of medicinal plants. As a result, the government is working to modernize and expand the AYUSH market area, he said. “India is a rich source of herbaceous plants, with ‘our Green Gold'”, the Prime Minister stressed.

PM says on AYUSH products

The Prime Minister described the unprecedented efforts in recent years to promote the export of AYUSH products. “Our AYUSH experts are developing ISO standards in partnership with the Bureau of Indian Standards. This will open up a major AYUSH export market in more than 150 countries” he said. This will greatly help the producers of nutritional supplements. Similarly, India will also make a special brand of AYUSH. This brand will be used in the highest quality AYUSH products made in India.

The Prime Minister has announced that the government will develop a network of AYUSH parks to promote the promotion, research and production of AYUSH products nationwide. “This power is present in every corner of India.  ‘Heal in India’ could be a major milestone in this decade, “he said. To further this, the Prime Minister went on to say that the government is taking another step towards foreign nationals who want to come to India to benefit from AYUSH treatment.

The Prime Minister also recounted the success story of Ayurveda’s former Kenyan Prime Minister, the daughter of Raila Odinga Rosemary Odinga who also saw after Ayush’s treatment. He went on to say that 21st century India wants to move forward by sharing its knowledge with the rest of the world. “Our heritage is like a heritage to all human beings,” he said. Comparing this to the movement of open resources in the IT sector, the Prime Minister emphasized that the culture of Ayurveda went from strength to strength through the sharing of knowledge. He stressed the need to work with the same spirit of open source taking inspiration from our ancestors. He hopes AmritKaal next year 25 will be a great time for traditional medicine.

The Prime Minister’s speech concluded with a personal and interesting note. Describing the love of Drs. Tedros Ghebreyesus for India and his concern for his Indian teachers and his love for Gujarat, Shri Modi gave him the Gujarati Name ‘Tulsi Bhai’. He described Tulsi’s positive and high status with the Indian audience in the audience and the bright DG, WHO and thanked him and the Prime Minister of Mauritius. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth for their presence.
