Alia Bhatt Images Leak: Anushka Sharma, Janhvi Kapoor Share Similar Experiences; Swara Bhasker, Karan Johar also react

Entire Bollywood expressed disgust and shock on social media after a media portal shared pictures of Alia Bhatt sitting in her house, clicked with a zoom lens from an adjacent building. Anushka Sharma and Janhvi Kapoor shared their own similar experiences and called out the media portal for such “invasion of privacy”. Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor and Swara Bhasker called the incident “shameful”.

Anushka shared on her Instagram Stories how a media portal did something similar with her daughter Vamika’s photos. She wrote: “This isn’t the first time they’ve done this. We called them out about two years ago for the same reason! You’d think it would make them respect people’s space and privacy more. Absolutely disgraceful! They were also the only guys who despite repeated requests are posting photos of our daughter.”

Janhvi Kapoor also shared how she too faced a similar situation when a media portal shared pictures of her clicking through a glass door while working out at the gym. She wrote on her Instagram Stories: “This is disgustingly disturbing. This publication has repeatedly done such things. Including being unknowingly photographed despite my constant requests; inside the gym where I go and work out through the glass door. In a space that is supposed to be private, where you don’t expect to be photographed.”

She further called out the media portal for their ‘journalistic achievements’, writing: “I understand that I will be in places and eyes when I do your job. Where there is a mutual understanding of the work of photographers and the work and requirements of a public figure. This subtlety, approaching someone’s private space without their consent or even knowledge and calling it exclusive as if it were a journalistic achievement, is far from that.”

Arjun Kapoor called it a stalking incident. He wrote on his Instagram Stories: “Absolutely shameless. This crosses all lines, if a woman doesn’t feel safe in her own home, forget for a second if she’s a public figure or not, any sane person who takes pictures of public figures for a living a being needs to know that this is pathetic behavior and these are people in the media that we have trusted and shown implicit faith in the belief that they are there to do a job to make women feel unsafe or invade someone’s privacy. This is nothing but than chasing @mumbaipolice.”

Karan Johar also wrote, “There is no justification for this absolutely disgusting invasion of privacy. Everyone in the entertainment industry is always for the media and the paparazzi and they are accommodating… but there HAS to be a LIMIT…. It’s about everyone’s right to feel safe in their own home! This is not about actors or celebrities, this is a basic human right!!!!”

Swara Bhasker also called the portal. “This is a shameless and criminal invasion of @aliabhatt’s privacy and is totally NOT OKAY. Shame on you,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
