The first major cruise ship of this season has arrived in Alaska, marking the start of what industry and tourism officials expect to be a year of intense navigation after two periods of epidemic. He said Juneau officials had estimated that they would receive an estimated one million visitors from student ships this year.
The Norwegian Cruise Line Norwegian Bliss arrived at the port in an industrial area near the Juneau suburb on Monday. Buses and vans were available to evacuate passengers. The weather was cool and harsh, with heavy rainfall. Lanie Downs, spokeswoman for the Cruise Lines International Association Alaska, said the trading team was looking forward to a “full season” again, with hundreds of planned cruises.

 “Having said that, I am really comfortable with many small businesses that rely on tourism,” he said, adding: “I think it will be good to see the people of the city again. It was incredibly quiet a few years ago working down there. ” Pierce said it was not expected that ships would be full, especially at the start of the season.
