Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar perform a puja on the banks of the Ganga River in Varanasi

Varanasi has become a destination for filmmakers and actors to promote their film or seek the blessings of Lord Shiva before the release of the film. Days after Kartik Aaryan returned from Varanasi after the release of his film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Akshay Kumar was spotted making pooja on the banks of the Ganga River. The actress is currently promoting her film Samrat Prithviraj and was accompanied by former Miss World star Manushi Chhillar in Varanasi. Posting it on Instagram, Akshay Kumar shared a photo of himself wearing a pink kurta and holding a prayer plate in his hands with dias and flowers on it.

Akshay had a red stick on his forehead and made a puja on the banks of the Ganga River. Manushi also shared photos from puja as he paired her with a pink salwar-kurta. In one of his photographs Manushi is seen praying, folding his arms, and closing his eyes. A large crowd of people can be seen in the back of the boats and in the ghats. In another photo, Samrat Prithviraj actors hold a prayer plate with the pastor helping them with their prayers.

Akshay also surprised everyone when he immersed himself in the river with his kurta-pajamas. He simply clasped his hands together and jumped into the river.

Samrat Prithviraj is ready to sing in the theater on June 3. Aided by Chandra prakash Dwivedi, the film is based on the life of the famous hero Prithviraj Chauhan and his love for Princess Sanyogita. The film also stars Sonu Sood, Sanjay Dutt, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar. The film marks the beginning of Manushi Chillar in Bollywood. The film was previously titled Prithviraj but has now been changed to Samrat Prithviraj. A new article was announced by Yash Raj Films on Friday following numerous discussions with Shree Rajput KarniSena who had challenged the former name on the grounds of disrespect.
