Anti-aircraft guided missile of the S-300 air defense system of the Ukrainian Air Force

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that Tuesday’s explosion on Polish territory was caused by a Ukrainian air defense missile and that Russian strikes in Ukraine were no closer than 35 km (22 miles) from the Polish border.

“Photos published on the evening of November 15 in Poland of debris found in the village of Przewodow are clearly identified by specialists of the Russian defense industry as elements of an anti-aircraft guided missile of the S-300 air defense system of the Ukrainian Air Force,” RIA quoted the Ministry of Defense as saying. The images and identification could not be independently verified.

The president of Poland, a NATO member, earlier said Warsaw had no concrete evidence to determine who fired the missile that hit a Polish grain facility about 6 km (4 miles) inside the border with Ukraine, killing two people.
