Natural therapy that can heal even the toughest wounds, says world traveler Prasanna Vee

Travel and discovery are not only multidimensional learning experiences, but also a natural therapy that can heal even the toughest wounds, says world traveler Prasanna Vee‘s new travelogue.  Vee is an American citizen of Indian origin who grew up in Chennai before moving to the US in 1998. Although he followed the typical career path followed by most technicians from the subcontinent after migrating abroad, his passion for travel has taken him to more than 250 countries and territories around the world – including all 193 countries recognized by the United Nations. He likes to be called a “serial traveller”.

Zip-lining above the jungle canopy in Peru, traversing the labyrinthine streets of Venice, haggling for the best price in traditional markets in Marrakech, speedboating across a volcanic lake in Guatemala or a terrifying walking safari in the jungles of Zambia – Vee says each of these adventures for him it was a blessing in disguise.

    He also says that one doesn’t even have to travel abroad to experience this exhilarating feeling, even domestic travel could serve it up on a platter.

    Traveling and exploring are multi-dimensional learning experiences for Vee. “You can be stimulated by different kinds of music in different countries, awaken your taste buds with different cuisines, or look at the pleasure and pain in the world through your own lens.”

    He also feels that travel gives us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves.

    In the end, he says, travel is a natural therapist that can heal even the toughest wounds.

“It’s a doctor who can heal through distraction. It’s a powerful way to mend the soul, clear the mind, and open the heart. Whether you’re trying to mend the cracks of your broken heart, or you’re grieving a personal or professional loss.” , travel can make you forget – at least temporarily – by providing visual and mental.
