2 soldiers killed and 4 wounded in Rajouri encounter; the internet broke suspended

Two Army soldiers were killed and four others, including an officer, were injured after terrorists detonated an explosive device during an encounter with security forces on Friday morning in the Kandi area of ​​Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir.

According to army officials, the terrorists belong to the same group that ambushed an army truck on April 20, killing at least five soldiers and injuring one more.

“Based on specific information about the presence of terrorists in Kandi forest in Rajouri sector, a joint operation was launched. The search team made contact with a group of terrorists well entrenched in the cave. The area is densely vegetated with rocky and steep cliffs,” the Indian Army said in a statement.

The injured have been shifted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur and other teams from the area have been dispatched to the encounter site, Army officials said.

According to initial reports, a group of terrorists is trapped in the area. “There is a possibility of casualties among the terrorist group,” the statement said. Meanwhile, mobile internet services have been suspended in Rajouri district.
