Four Delhi schools received bomb threat emails early Friday, marking the second such scare in a week. Security agencies launched immediate search operations to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Threat emails were sent at 12:54 a.m., referencing “parent-teachers’ meetings” and “sports day” activities before warning of potential bomb blasts on Friday and Saturday. The schools affected include:
Bhatnagar International School, Paschim Vihar (4:21 a.m.)
Cambridge School, Shri Niwas Puri (6:23 a.m.)
DPS Amar Colony, East of Kailash (6:35 a.m.)
South Delhi Public School, Defence Colony (7:57 a.m.)
Other schools, including Delhi Police Public School, Safdarjung, and Venkateshwar Global School, Rohini, received similar threats soon after.
Authorities responded swiftly, deploying police, bomb detection squads, dog units, and fire services to search the premises. Parents were alerted and asked to keep their children at home or pick them up if they were already at school.
Cambridge School principal Madhavi Goswami discovered the email during a routine check and promptly informed the police. The school shifted to online classes for the day.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed concern over the recurring threats, questioning the impact on children’s safety and education. Speaking on social media, he emphasized the need for strict measures to prevent such incidents.
This scare comes just days after a similar event on December 9, when 44 Delhi schools received bomb threat emails. Those emails, later declared hoaxes, caused widespread panic and forced mass evacuations.
Delhi Police confirmed that while investigations are ongoing, no explosives
